How much does treatment at Turning Point cost?
While the cost of treatment varies slightly based on location, there is an initial
charge to move-in. The initial charges are non-refundable. Fees
are negotiable and will be discussed with your Admissions Coordinator. For more
information regarding fees, insurance and referrals, please call (800) 700-9063.
What items can I bring to residential treatment?
- Clothing: No tight or revealing clothes, alcohol related t-shirts, tank tops, halter
tops, or short shorts.
- Personal Care Items/Toiletries: All items need to be alcohol free.
- A combination lock for your locker
- If you take medication, please bring a 30 day supply in the original bottle. Because
Turning Point is a non-medical facility, you are advised to bring your own over-the-
counter, non-drowsy pain reliever (Tylenol, Aleve, Motrin, etc.) in the original
package.
- Linens (sheets, towels, wash cloths, etc.) are in limited supply, so you may want
to bring your own.
- A small clock radio (No CD, MP3 or cassette players)
The following items are NOT ALLOWED:
Cell phone, pager, radios, MP3 players, television, explicit materials/magazines,
no weapons (guns, knives, etc.), fireworks, or gambling items including lottery
tickets.
What will happen when I arrive at Turning Point?
All new clients are assigned a primary therapist who, as part of a professional
and supervised treatment team, will collaborate with the client to develop and implement
an individualized master treatment plan, geared to effectively address an individual’s
recovery needs.
Clients will also be assigned to gender specific groups, and their daily activity
will be facilitated, monitored and supported by supervised staff. Treatment plans
will be reviewed and updated as necessary.

How long will I stay?
The minimum time a resident must commit to stay at Turning Point is 30 days. However,
residents are encouraged to stay six months to one year. Transitional housing is
a six-twelve month program, but the average length of stay is 14 months.
Can I still work/go to school while staying at Turning Point?
You are not allowed to leave the facility, until you have completed the program.
Because you are in treatment, it may not be possible for you to maintain employment.
However, if you are in the Long Term Treatment Program, you may resume employment
after the first seven days. All appointments (medical, legal, etc.) must be taken
care of prior to your admission into treatment. Emergency situations will be accommodated
as deemed appropriate. Your Admissions Counselor will discuss this matter with you.
Can my family visit me? What about telephone calls?
Yes, Turning Point allows family visitations on Sunday. There are pay phones available
to make phone calls. You may use quarters or a phone card to make calls.
What will happen after I complete the program? Is there any follow up?
At the conclusion of short-term residential treatment, all clients receive an individualized
aftercare plan that may include the following referrals:
- Transitional Housing
- Psychiatric Services
- Medical Services
- Vocational Services
- Extended Residential Care
- Outpatient Treatment
